MIA

Okay, okay, so I've been a little remiss in posting new pictures or updates lately. We've had a lot of changes around the Bird house, so it's been a little crazy adjusting. However, I do think things are starting to settle down a bit. Now, if we could all just get rid of the "gunk" going around and stop passing it to each other.

Alexis is busy at school - going 3 days a week now - she enjoys going to Chapel every Wednesday with her brother Michael. They love to sing and dance! :-) Alexis started her ballet and tap classes again...she bumped up to the 4-5 year old class, and so far she is hanging in there right with them. Did anyone really have any doubt that Miss Boss would have any problems handling the older girls? Alexis is also playing soccer this fall...Mommy and Daddy are coaching. Let's just say the first practice did not go so well...this can be related back to the Miss Boss comment, only this time, she wasn't so successful getting everything in line just the way that she would like it. The first game is this Saturday; stay tuned for pictures and many stories, I'm sure.

Michael is growing like a weed! He passed his 18-month check-up with flying colors. He weighed 25 lbs (50th percentile) and was in the 75th percentile for height. His head circumference was only in the 25th percentile. He is constantly on the move - he never sits still, and he is fearless. He will climb anything and then proceed to jump off, fall and do it all over again! He still speaks jibberish; however, he throws more and more real words in the mix every day. We hope that he never outgrows saying yes with his entire body - so cute! His favorite word is uh-oh, and he love to ask, "U OK?" He is also melting Mommy's heart by returning I love yous now - he knows it, too - he smiles from ear to ear after he says it. Another favorite is the emphatic way he ends the dinner time prayer, "Ahhh..MEN!"

Both children are such a joy; don't get me wrong, they can be very challenging at times (especially with sibling rivarly really starting to peak), but we are very blessed. So many families are hurting right now with the loss of very little ones taken way too early, so I'm really trying to enjoy all of the details, even the not-so-fun ones because you just never know.
